16x16 painting- acrylic layers burlap on wood panel. before beginning the painting The surfaced had to be primed and the texture of the burlap smoothed out. starting with fluid acrylic and ink. The most rewarding part of my process is seeing the dry fluid painting and deciding the final composition of the linework, creating the movement of the piece. The base color pallet is pearl orange and black while the supporting colors are pale yellow, coral, and cool gray.
my process evolved from color choice, it can be mediative and relaxing. inspirations from art history include- William de Kooning and Helen Frankenthaler.
